This collection of favourite Irish folk tales includes the famous legends of the bewitched Children of Lir and the Twelve Wild Geese.

Malachy Doyle began his career as a children's writer in 1996 and was met with immediate success, having thirteen books accepted for publication within the year. He has also written The Barefoot Book of Fairy Tales (1-84148-797-x) for Barefoot Books, published in Autumn 2005. Malachy lives in Wales with his wife and three daughters. Niamh Sharkey, an award-winning Irish illustrator, graduated from the College of Marketing and Design, Ireland, in 1994 with First Class Honours. She works in oils on a gessoed textured background to create the richness in colour that has already established her as a world class illustrator. Niamh has illustrated a number of best-selling titles at Barefoot Books: Jack and the Beanstalk + CD (1-905236-42-5), The Gigantic Turnip + CD (1-902283-29-5) and Tales of Wisdom and Wonder (1-8-84148-191-2).
